I drew this to make a huge birthday print for =cartoongirl7, but I finished it way early and decided to share. I'll draw more for her before the end of September, when it's actually her birthday.
One day she came to my house and discussed the special touches she likes to add to her drawings, like frills and lace and flowy hair. I used to make fun of her all the time because she'd usually make the clothing white/light colors, while I always used bold, dark colors.
Well, I want to work on versatility so I worked on making a really girly picture. But of course, I had to stick to my guns and do crazy backgrounds like I usually do. The entire background is done with Copic Sketch markers... very experimental. I was cursing half of the time I was coloing, because I didn't plan ahead and had to keep improvising as markers died/dried out. My Copic graveyard is growing, by the way.
So here's to something different. I love red/green or red/blue color schemes.
The backgroung must be a real ink-killer o___o But it got the effect! Sakura tree looks awesome!
I was wondering... seems you used up quite some markers already, so I thought I could ask... Is it only me, or bright colors die faster? Well, I have only Copic Ciao and thay have less ink than Sketch, but still... I swear, I've been using colors like red or brown a lot, but it was light gray or blue (C-1, B06) that died first... Either my markers are weird or I imagine things.. or both XD
Hmm. That's interesting! I can't say I really know the answer because I tend to use light/bright colors more than I use my darker ones (well, I use all of them a lot but yea, tend to use light colors for blending and stuff). Most of my markers are depleting in ink supply but now that I look at it, it's mostly my light colored ones (like E tones).
imma steal it =w=
